Competing as the sole Taiwanese representative among 16 players, the 33-year-old Ko triumphed over Albania’s Eklent Kaçi with a score of 13-5 in the final held at the Brentwood Center in Essex. For his achievement, Ko received a prize of $40,000. His jubilation was evident as he celebrated by leaping onto the table after the match, subsequently receiving the tournament trophy. Reflecting on his win, Ke Bingyi expressed that this victory fulfilled a dream shared with his brothers, Ke Bingzhong and Ke Binghan, who are also professional billiards players.

In a Facebook post, Ke Bingyi recalled discussions with his brothers about their plans to celebrate by jumping on the pool table upon winning an international championship. He noted that although his brother, Ke Bingzhong, did not fulfill this promise when he won in the Maldives last year, he was determined to do so this time.

Ko expressed his happiness at securing Taiwan’s inaugural title at the World Pool Masters and expressed his ambition to excel in all major tournaments, aiming for the Grand Slam. He emphasized the collective effort of the three Ko brothers in striving for improvement and success.

Established in 1993, the World Masters of Billiards is renowned as the most historic invitational tournament in billiards history, according to the Matchroom Pool website.

The final match commenced with Kaci taking an early lead, but Ko managed to stage a comeback, capitalizing on Kaci’s nerves. Despite facing stiff competition, Ko seized the momentum and secured a decisive victory, marking his first major win since 2015.

Ke Bingyi’s journey to victory showcased remarkable skill and determination. He dominated his opponents throughout the tournament, defeating top players such as Jason Shaw and James Aranas on his path to the finals.
